CalculatorCove is a free online calculator library built by Shafqat, a web developer with 13 years of experience. Every formula is sourced from a named primary authority — IRS, NEC, CDC, WHO, USDA — cited and linked on the page. No registration. No ads blocking your result. Just accurate calculations explained in plain language.
I build free, formula-verified calculators for anyone who needs accurate results without the friction. The problem I kept running into: online calculators gave a number with no explanation, hid the formula, required a signup, or buried the result under ads. None of them showed their work or linked to a source you could verify.
I built CalculatorCove to fix that. Every calculator here is completely free, requires no registration, and shows exactly what it is doing — the formula, where it comes from, a worked example using realistic numbers, and a reference table for interpreting your result. I verify every formula against the official primary source: the IRS for tax calculations, the NEC for electrical, the USDA for nutrition, the CDC and WHO for health. Each source is linked on the page so you can check it yourself.
The site is not about me having a finance or medical credential. It is about implementing verified formulas correctly and explaining them clearly — for a student doing coursework, a contractor in Texas, or a small business owner in London.
Most online calculators have one of three problems: they hide the formula they use, they give a number with no context, or they require a signup before you can see your result. Homeowners estimating project costs, students checking their work, contractors building quotes, and professionals running quick estimates all need the same thing — a fast result they can trust, with enough context to understand whether it makes sense.
CalculatorCove covers 14 categories from finance and health to electrical and networking. Enter your numbers, get the result, and see the formula, worked example, and reference benchmarks on the same page. No account. No paywall. No ads covering the output. The calculation is the whole point.
Before any calculator goes live, the formula is sourced from a named primary authority and cross-checked against at least one independent reference. For regulated calculations, the most recent edition of the official standard is used.
Every category has its own reference chain. Finance calculations reference IRS publications and Federal Reserve data. Electrical calculations use NFPA 70 (NEC), the current edition. Health calculators reference CDC, WHO, and NIH guidelines. Construction material calculations use NAHB standards and ICC building codes. Food and nutrition calculations use USDA FoodData Central. Statistics calculators implement published statistical methodology from ASA and peer-reviewed references. Each source is linked on the individual calculator page — not buried in a general reference list.
Sometimes two authoritative sources give different values for the same figure. When that happens, both values are documented on the page with their source dates and the discrepancy is explained. Users are shown which value applies to their specific situation rather than silently picking one. This is the most common place where competitor calculators get things wrong without knowing it.
Tax rates, medical reference ranges, electrical code editions, and nutritional guidelines all change. When a primary source publishes an update, the affected calculators are reviewed and corrected. The verified badge on each calculator page shows the date of the most recent review. If you notice a formula that appears to use an outdated standard, the contact form reaches the right person within 48 hours.

CalculatorCove follows a fixed set of editorial rules that apply to every calculator and every category without exception.
CalculatorCove covers calculations across 14 categories. Each has a hub page explaining the core concepts and individual calculator pages built to the same formula-verification standard.
Every calculation runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The numbers you enter — your income, your loan amount, your health measurements, your project dimensions — never leave your device. They are not sent to any server, not logged, and not associated with any identifier.
Google Analytics collects anonymised aggregate traffic data covering which pages are visited and which device types are used. No individual calculation inputs are ever part of analytics collection. See the full Privacy Policy for complete details.
CalculatorCove provides reference calculations and estimates. It is not a professional advice service. Results are a starting point for understanding a calculation — not a final answer for regulated or high-stakes decisions.
A disclaimer appears on every individual calculator page. The full Disclaimer and Terms of Service define the complete scope.
New calculators are added every week based on user requests. If you need a calculation that is not on the site yet — a finance tool, a health metric, or anything across our 14 categories — use the request form. Describe what you need to calculate and why. Calculators are typically live within a few days and you will receive an email when yours goes live.
Free tools across all 14 categories — verified formulas, real examples, no signup.
